August 26, 2009 The Coquille Valley Sentinel Page 9 II Fall High School Sports are Coming!!! by Ken Duke Are you excited? Well you should be, for it is that time of year again when the Coquille High School Red Devil and Lady Devil teams are preparing to hit the fields and courts of Varsity competition in the 2009 Fall Sports Season. This week, the Varsity Teams have began their official practices so they can be ready to play the first games during the first week of school. The Annual High School Red/White Football Scrimmage is scheduled at 6:00pm, September 3rd at the Football stadium. Last year the football team came up just short of making the Oregon State 3A Ptayoffs, and this year with a new coaching staff, it should be a great year. Also, last year's Boys Soccer team had the best season since Coquille High School Soccer team was formed. They went to the Oregon State 4A playoffs for the first time, and this year looks to be even better. The Lady Devils Soccer team had a rough year, but most of the team is return- ing, more experienced, and they should be great. The Girls Volleyball team went far beyond expectation last year and qualified for the Oregon State 3A Playoffs, and hopefully, we will see them go even further this year. Below are the sched- ules for the sport of your choice; football, volleyball, and boys and girls soccer. The Girls Volleyball will kick off the first High School Varsity Game on September 9th, at 6:30pm against Waldport. Come on out and enjoy this great pas- time with your neighbors. I am personally looking for- ward to a wonderful year for all of the teams this year, I hope you are too, for it should be a lot of fun and excitement for the whole family. mmmml||mmmml m m m m m | m mm m mm m m m m m | mm mm mm iNm m Cocluille High School ' [ Red Devil Football Schedule I I I I :Fri 9/11/09 Creswell High School CHS Football Field 7 p.m. I :Fri 9/18/09 Glendale High School CHS 7 p.m. Fri 9/25/09 Glide High School 7 p.m. Fri 10/2/09 Cascade Christian High CHS 7 p.m. I Thu 10/8/09 6old Beach High 7 p.m. I I m Fri 10/16/09 Reedsport High SchoolCHS 7 p.m. m I I I Fri 10/23/09 Q Myrtle Point High CHS 7 p.m. m I Fri 10/30/09 Bandon High School CHS 7 p.m. i [_-_,___L,?_t/o_,_ ._ ._._ U ,_, ................. mfmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmlmlmmmmmmmmmmmmmmimmmmmmm m mm NWNN m mmmm~m : Coquilte High School : I I t Girls Vanity Volleyball Schedule m I I I I I .
